New Project

I study Fashion Journalism at uni, and we have just been set a brilliant new project. We have to produce a series of three photos in a pair. We organise the styling, location, model and the photography. We only have one month in which to do it!
My partner and I have been inspired by the Spring/Summer 2010 catwalks, where a very strong Lolita theme came through, so our choice of fashion will reflect this. Our location is London, and this will show through in the pictures as we intend the overall theme to be Lolita meets London (a working title at the moment).
I have created a mood board to help us.

Lolita Darling

Betsey Johnson, Chanel, Karen Walker, Luella, Marc Jacobs, Milly, Mochino Cheap and Chic and Peter Som all channelled the 1950's cutesy fashion trends for Spring/Summer 2010. High waisted shorts, hair accessories- predominately big bows a la Sarah from A little Princess and girly prints are must-buys. Think Lolita or Lolita. In fact a good person to look to for inspiration...although many will "pfft" at  this is Katy Perry, who is often seen in 50's-esque playsuits and vintage looking outfits (including her 'Thinking of you' music video.)

Loving H+M's new eco friendly collection?

As always florals are going to be in fashion for this spring/summer, and if you are looking for a place to buy...then look no further than our trusty H+M. The collection is boho meets Lolita, featuring high waisted blue shorts with a double peplum, batwing floral tops and a very glam red dress. I haven't seen the collection up close so I am crossing my fingers for the quality as we know the quality of said shop isn't always the best. Not only are the peices thoughtfully designed, they are also eco-friendly...so we should probably buy them right away! (The prices as always are very competative.)
